Vacation Care for Children 5-18

Our Vacation Care Program is a community based program for school children aged 5-18 years with a diagnosed disability.

We are based at two locations: Mt Ommaney and Holland Park. On these sites we provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, such as:

  • Cooking
  • Sports
  • Craft
  • Pretend play
  • Sensory play
  • Water play
  • Outdoor play
  • Themed days
  • Community outings
  • Visits to theme parks / zoos / other attractions

Our activities are fun, engaging and educational. We provide a caring and secure environment where each child can develop his or her physical, intellectual, language, social/emotional and life skills. We aim for each child  to become a competent and confident individual.

The program operates for 10 weeks per year during the school holiday period, excluding the week between Christmas and New Years and the last week of the January holidays.

Some of the feedback we have received on our program:

“The team have been awesome! My son has loved his time here!”

“Excellent, polite and motivated staff. I felt very much that he was in safe hands, physically and emotionally”.

“We were really happy with the service. It was so pleasant to see a number of times when arriving to pick my daughter up that she was playing on the trampoline, or exploring outside in an environment that was safe. The staff were really friendly, and my daughter was at ease at the centre. Looking forward to the excursions and next holidays!”

Our team

Our team has been selected on their support giving qualities and formal/informal knowledge, skills and experience and/or willingness to acquire these. You will find the team friendly and approachable and they will assist you when they can. We are able to provide one to one  support dependant on your child’s individual needs and support requirements.

Everyone in our team has a current Blue Card for working with children and possesses qualifications and training in allergies and anaphylaxis, gastrostomy feeding, seizure management, medication administration and behaviour management.

Would you like to volunteer at one of our Vacation Care Programs?

Volunteers support children and young people with a disability with their daily care routines including physical support. Volunteers also help to organise activities and support the children on day trips and excursions. The role suits energetic people who are available over the school holidays and love being creative.
