Become an Educator

I’m passionate about children and interested in becoming an educator with UnitingCare

Do you love working with children?
Are you enthusiastic with heaps of energy?
If so, we need you!

If you love helping young children and families to get the best start in life, then becoming a UnitingCare Outback Child and Families educator might be the perfect job for you. Ideally you’ll be passionate about the lifelong journey of learning, with a particular interest in early childhood education or care.

Our services play an important role in providing childcare and education to children in locations which don’t have access to mainstream childcare. Our teams are highly professional, well trained and qualified, and they find great reward in the job they do. They are skilled at overcoming the challenges we face working in remote or rural Queensland, and they have a clear understanding and appreciation of the unique needs of our customers.

We have several different services which need early childhood educators:

Our Family Day Care service is actively seeking educators to open up their home to care for and educate children in the following locations: Longreach, Emerald, Roma, Windorah, Charters Towers and Toowoomba.

Our Remote Area Families Service (RAFS) is a unique, mobile, early learning program for children aged 0-5 in outback Qld who are unable to access mainstream childcare. Educators will deliver a range of developmentally appropriate activities to children from bases in Charleville, Mackay, Longreach, Mt Isa and Mareeba. Educators will be required to travel extensively so we are seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated people who are flexible and able to cope with rural life.

In Home Care service also needs educators to provide quality care and early learning programs to children in Charleville and North Queensland. You will benefit by being self-employed with a contract with a family for a period up to 12 months. This is a unique opportunity to live in rural and remote Queensland and experience life on a property whilst making a real difference to children.
