Early childhood education on your property

Give your child the best start in life with a childcare service that meets your needs

Our In Home Care program is an early childhood education service designed to support outback children who do not have access to other mainstream childcare services, either due to where they live or because current circumstances mean existing services do not meet their families’ needs.

We can help you find and recruit an educator to deliver a high quality childcare and educational program to your child within your home. Educators are self-employed and, in most instances, live on your property.

Once you register your interest, our facilitators will work with you to recruit a suitable educator that meets your needs.

From the start of the placement, our facilitators will provide ongoing support for the educator and your family – by phone, email and through home visits.

If you live in the Queensland outback, and have a child who is 12 years old or younger, you could be eligible for this service.

You must be able to provide safe and comfortable accommodation for the educator, adequate time for rest and safe transport to and from your property.

You may be entitled to government assistance to subsidise accessing this service.
