Family Day Care Service Banner

The UnitingCare Family Day Care service has now extended to support parents and families living within Emerald, Longreach, Roma, Windorah and Toowoomba.

The Family Day Care service offers quality care and education, all within a nurturing home environment. It is flexible to suit you and your families’ lifestyle, and hours and times are negotiable with your carer.

Our educators are approved early childhood education and care professionals who follow the Early Years Learning Framework, and are supported with monitoring and training by UnitingCare to ensure all children receive high quality education and care.

What is Family Day Care?

Family Day Care is an approved childcare service that is provided within the home of the Family Day Care educator. Family Day Care assists parents and families by providing care and education to children aged 0-12 years.

Educators are approved early childhood education and care professionals who follow the Early Years Learning Framework and can care for up to 4 children under school age at any one time. Educators are registered with a family day care service that is responsible for providing support, monitoring and training to the educators.

Our Family Day Care service is sponsored by UnitingCare Queensland and is open to families with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. We also offer support to parents and families who have children with additional needs at varying and flexible timeframes. Families and parents who experience sudden emergencies or non-standard working hours can also access care on weekends, events and overnight where needed.

What are the benefits of Family Day Care?

  • Family Day Care is provided in a safe and nurturing home environment
  • Hours are flexible and negotiable with the Family Day Care educator. This can include non-standard hours, weekends and overnight where needed*
  • Family Day Care provides care and education from babies to school age, offering the opportunity for siblings to be cared for together, in the one location
  • Group numbers for children in care are low, which means a more personalised approach to care.

*These options are only available to parents and families who experience sudden emergencies or who work non-standing working hours.
